Kurt Larsen

Managing Partner. 

Kurt focuses primarily on the industrial services and software sectors. Mr. Larsen has been in the private equity industry for over 25 years during which time he has invested across a wide spectrum of industries and throughout the capital structure. Prior to joining NexPhase, Mr. Larsen was most recently a Managing Partner at MCP. Previously, Mr. Larsen was a Managing Director at Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. where he focused on middle market private equity and subordinated debt investments. He played an integral role in all aspects of the investment process and actively worked with management teams and boards to deliver value creation. Prior to joining Cerberus in 2003, Mr. Larsen founded and was the Managing Partner of his own private equity firm. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Larsen was a Principal at Aurora Capital Group, a middle market private equity firm. Before joining Aurora Capital, Mr. Larsen worked as an Associate at WSGP Partners, a private equity firm founded by William E. Simon and Gerald L. Parsky. Mr. Larsen began his career as an Analyst and Associate at Drexel Burnham Lambert and attended the University of Utah. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Prior Fund portfolio companies CyberCore Technologies, Flexible Architecture and Simplified Technology, (FAST), Hawthorne Global Aviation Services, Insurance Technologies, ALOFT, and, formerly, Quest Specialty Chemicals, Uintah Engineering & Land Surveying, Mxi Technologies and SwipeClock.

Ted Yun

Managing Partner. 

Ted focuses primarily on the healthcare sector. Mr. Yun has 25 years of investment experience and expertise in building and managing private equity firms and has served on the boards of 15 portfolio companies prior to joining MCP where he was a Managing Partner. Previously, Mr. Yun spent 11 years at J.W. Childs, where he was a Partner and Chairman of the Investment Committee. After his time at J.W. Childs, he was a founder and Managing Partner of West Hill Partners, a private equity firm focused on middle market growth company buyouts. Previously, Mr. Yun worked at DLJ Merchant Banking, The Blackstone Group and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Mr. Yun graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A.S. from the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania and received an M.B.A. from Stanford University. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Comprehensive Pharmacy Services, OmniSYS, WIN Holdings, Meduit, Clearway Pain Solutions Institute, SYNERGY Homecare and Action Behavior Centers. He formerly served on the boards of Dr. Fresh, Kinsale Capital Group and NMSC Holdings.

Jamie Kaufman

Partner. 

Prior to NexPhase, Ms. Kaufman was a Principal at MCP. Previously, Ms. Kaufman was a Private Equity Investment Associate at American Securities Capital Partners and an Analyst in the Financial Sponsors Group at Lehman Brothers. Ms. Kaufman graduated cum laude with an A.B. in Political Science from Brown University and holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. She currently serves on the board of directors for Zing Zang and formerly served on the board of directors of Quest Specialty Chemicals.

Andy Kieffer

Partner. 

Andy focuses on the healthcare sector. Mr. Kieffer has over 20 years of private investment and M&A experience and prior to NexPhase was a Partner at MCP. Previously, Mr. Kieffer was a part of the UBS Financial Sponsors and Leveraged Finance Group and prior to that at Leonard Green & Partners and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Kieffer graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Comprehensive Pharmacy Services, OmniSYS, WIN Holdings, Meduit Clearway Pain Solutions Institute, SYNERGY Homecare and Action Behavior Centers. He previously served on the board of directors of MidCap Financial and NMSC Holdings.

Joel Killion

Partner. 

Joel focuses on the software and consumer sectors. Mr. Killion has 17 years of private equity investment experience. Prior to NexPhase, Mr. Killion was a Partner at MCP. Previously, Mr. Killion was with Sun Capital Partners where he worked in both the U.S. and London. Prior to joining Sun Capital, he was with Catterton Partners. He also worked for Lehman Brothers and Legg Mason early in his career. Mr. Killion holds a B.S. in Economics from Pennsylvania State University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Brandt Information Services, InsideRE, Flexible Architecture and Simplified Technology, (FAST), Insurance Technologies, and Zing Zang, and previously served on the board of directors of Dr. Fresh, Uintah Engineering & Land Surveying, SwipeClock, Kinsale Capital Group, and Joerns Recovercare.

Lex Leeming

Partner & Head of Business Development. 

Lex leads business development at NPC. Mr. Leeming has 16 years of investing, sourcing and capital raising experience and has completed numerous middle market buyouts across a variety of industries. Prior to NexPhase, Mr. Leeming was Partner & Head of Business Development at MCP. Previously, Mr. Leeming was a Principal with Park Avenue Equity Partners, a middle market buyout fund, where he was part of the investment team and involved in deal execution. Prior to Park Avenue Equity Partners, Mr. Leeming worked in a strategy and marketing capacity at American Express and began his career as an analyst at Global Emerging Markets. Mr. Leeming graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University and holds an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He currently serves on the board of directors for Hawthorne Global Aviation Services.

Andrew Goldfarb

Chief Financial Officer. 

Mr. Goldfarb has 17 years of experience in finance and accounting in the financial services industry. Prior to NexPhase, Mr. Goldfarb was a Senior VP/Controller at MCP. Previously, Mr. Goldfarb was a Vice President and Fund Group Controller at Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. with responsibility for all accounting functions for the institutional private equity funds. Prior to Cerberus, he was an Associate with the Real Estate Fund Controllers at Morgan Stanley and began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Financial Services Group. Mr. Goldfarb holds a B.S. in Accounting from Binghamton University, State University of New York.

Robert Gartland

Principal. 

Prior to NexPhase, Mr. Gartland was a Senior Associate at MCP. Previously, Mr. Gartland was an Analyst at Moelis & Company where he focused on M&A and restructuring transactions across a variety of industries. Mr. Gartland holds a B.B.A. with High Distinction from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He currently serves on the boards of Brandt Information Services, InsideRE, Flexible Architecture and Simplified Technology, (FAST), Insurance Technologies and previously served on the board of directors of SwipeClock.

George Zahringer

Principal. 

Prior to MCP, Mr. Zahringer was an Associate at Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. where he focused on private equity, distressed debt and lending opportunities across a wide range of industries, situations and structures. Mr. Zahringer holds a B.A. from St. John’s College. He currently serves on the boards of American Global Logistics and ALOFT, and formerly served on the board of Flightstar Aircraft Services.

Bobby Narvaez

Controller. 

Mr. Narvaez has 7 years of experience in finance and accounting in the Private Equity industry. Prior to NexPhase, Mr. Narvaez was an Assistant Controller at MCP. Previously, Mr. Narvaez was Assistant Controller at Pomona Capital where he was responsible for fund accounting and financial reporting. He began his career as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Alternative Investments Group. Mr. Narvaez holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. He is a New York State Certified Public Accountant.

Chip Robie

Vice President. 

Prior to NexPhase, Mr. Robie was a Senior Associate at MCP. Previously, Mr. Robie was an Analyst at Moelis & Company where he focused on M&A and restructuring transactions across a variety of industries. Mr. Robie graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University. He formerly served on the board of directors for NAPA Management Services Corporation.

Alan Rogers

Senior Associate. 

Prior to NexPhase, Mr. Rogers was an Associate at MCP. Previously, Mr. Rogers was an Analyst in the Consumer, Food and Retail Group at Houlihan Lokey where he focused on M&A and capital markets transactions. Mr. Rogers holds a B.S. in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Jordan Zauderer

Associate. 

Prior to NPC, Mr. Zauderer was an Analyst in the Healthcare Group at Jefferies where he focused on M&A and capital markets transactions. Mr. Zauderer graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Economics and minor in Financial Economics from Vanderbilt University.

Quint Carr

Associate. 

Prior to NPC, Mr. Carr was an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at BB&T Capital Markets where he focused on M&A transactions across a variety of industry verticals. Mr. Carr graduated with a B.A. in Economics and a double major in Finance from the College of William & Mary.

Zach Dubrof

Associate. 

Prior to NPC, Mr. Dubrof was an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Jefferies where he focused on M&A transactions across a variety of industry verticals. Mr. Dubrof graduated with a B.A. in Economics and in Political Science, with minors in Spanish and Financial Economics, from Vanderbilt University.

Nicholas Landenwich

Associate. 

Prior to NPC, Mr. Landenwich was an Analyst in the Healthcare Group at Jefferies where he focused on M&A and capital markets transactions. Mr. Landenwich graduated with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University.

Matthew Boylan

Associate. 

Prior to NexPhase, Mr. Boylan was an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Jefferies where he focused on M&A transactions across a variety of industry verticals. Mr. Boylan graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and simultaneously received a M.B.A., cum laude, with concentrations in Corporate Finance and Investments from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame.
